Stilted & poised
Perfectly placed above water, the design team sensitively blends contemporary with rustic, contrasting polished geometry with local craftsmanship, and bamboo textures with colourful furniture. The thoughtful spaces and natural materials, animated by cozy nooks and around a serene tropical landscape, promote pure relaxation.
The defining signature architectural feature of this project is the integration of light and space as the running thread of visual space. Walls remain porous as a series of structural elements that animate the entire project, poetically articulating the boxy structure that serves as a habitat.
Upon entrance, guests are immediately led through a tunnel enclosed by a framework of aged timber establishing a stylish indoor-outdoor narrative into the residential. With a singular thatched roof, all of the rooms enjoy the luxury of their own open-air privacy offering a tropical space surrounded by lush greenery.
The contemporary aesthetic of the furniture, exudes a modern elegance to this space which is otherwise fitted with the barest of essentials. The unexpected touches make for a relaxed, convivial environment where guests can indulge in the presence of nature as the grandest muse.
