”Designing is a multi-faceted form of art in which creative and technical solutions are applied to create a space into a beautiful and functional environment. It’s not just about selling the space or décor, it is about selling the experience as well. The creativity it can exhibit is endless.”

Harnessing Ebb And Flow

A mixed-use development in Wuchang, this project houses a shopping mall, a five-star hotel, leisure and commercial facilities. With a total gross floor area of 500,000 square meters, the design aims to become the centerpiece of a new master plan. Ultimately, it is poised as a new retail landmark and a well- integrated complex that responds to its surrounding.

Inspired by the classic inverted ”figure-of-eight”, the architectural landscape is designed with a harmonious circulation flow that responds to different nodal points around the site. The towers are aligned in the three corners of the site, creating a visual terrace where mall patrons can enjoy the beautiful view of the city on the terrace and rooftop.

The architecture for the retail mall takes its inspiration from a garden cityscape where its inner spaces are integrated with greenery. The design team broke away from the conventional opaque box of retail design and used layered glazing with various degrees of opacities and lighting effects to allow visual interaction between the interior and exterior.
